Jacobus Witbooi

South Africa, 24 November 2017

One year ago today the Iranti team lost a dear friend and vibrant activist, Jacobus Witbooi, Pan Africa ILGA's (PAI) coordinator.

Born 16 December 1988, Jacobus was always a resilient young LGBTIQ activist, from Namibia who moved to South Africa as PAI's first employee. While attending the African Commission on Human and Peoples Rights in the Gambia, Jacobus fell ill and passed away on 24 November 2016.

Jacobus is sorely missed by all Iranti’s staff, having brought life and energy to all their work. Rest in Power, Jacobus. You will not be forgotten.

24 November 2016.. He is sorely missed by a community across that loved him dearly. RIP Jacobus. We will all continue to build on your legacy.
